OK, if you need to contact me (Annie), here's the contact info:
If there's a problem on a board I'm moderating, here's the contact info.
I also have an address that reaches all of the moderators at once (for the Adam Beach Fan Forum):
That's useful for when I'm not online and something terribly wrong is going on, and someone needs to erase a post for instance. Oh, and don't expect an answer from the other moderators, they've requested to stay anonymous.
Why I require industry insiders to be declared.
From the beginning of time on the internet, celebrities and industry insiders have been bashed when they've ventured on to message boards and news groups.
Why? Because the fans don't really believe they are who they say they are. I've seen this happen over and over. We had a VERY nasty incident a long time ago involving a relative of a celebrity.
The point here is to avoid celebrities getting spat on, trampled on etc.
So I require them to be declared on this board, so they will be treated with respect.
Some celebrities don't want to be declared, they want to post as Joe Q. Public. Well then, never fall out of character as a fan! It's that simple. Quit with the "I know Adam routine", and just be a fan, and you're OK here - undeclared even as a celebrity. If you want to even utter the words - "I know Adam", you need to be declared. That goes for friends of his too!
And Kel is right about one thing. Taking as fact what a nameless "friend" of Adam is saying could seriously backfire. As long as that friend isn't declared we have no way of knowing that it's accurate information.
