I got the idea of a
questionnaire/quiz after someone mailed me and asked if I could
interview Litefoot. I don't think that's about to happen, because
he has a website himself, and I frankly don't know him. There may
however be other actors that would like to have an interview on
the web, or, more to the point, there may be a lot of fans who'd
be very persuasive that they should if they get a hold of their
favorite....!
It dawned on me that I simply wouldn't know where to begin if I were to interview one of these guys, so I decided it would be good if I had some help. Other people may be like me, so public help would be good. I've started building a questionnaire that reads more like a quiz, but there are some good questions I haven't thought of that some of you will no doubt think of. Help me build this thing! I'll number each question, and if you get the questionnaire to an actor they can answer the questions they'd like to answer and add some of their own. There will probably be too many question for one actor to answer anyway, and not all questions will be relevant for all actors. Hopefully you'll send the results to me so I can put it on this page, but I'm not invoking any copyright on this thing, so If you decide to build your own webpage and include it instead - at least send me the link...
Stephanie Gritts (editor AHG) pointed out to me that some questions can be disrespectful to Indians, and that we should be careful when doing this. That means approaching them with respect and staying away from certain questions. I'm not native, so I don't know all that much about what's inappropriate, and I can't quote Stephanie without her permission, just be careful when doing this. I hope we can get some answers on what should be off limits eventually. If you've read Tony Hillerman's (excellent crime writer) books you have gotten some answers to things that are off limits, mainly things concerning religion. If you're not native yourself you may unwittingly step on their toes - so to speak, as I no doubt have done many times. Try and be sensitive to the signals they're giving you, and know when it is OK to approach them. For some actors it is very important to get exposure, while others need their privacy because they're already well known and fans are all over them.
I have some new questions (July 1999) and some old onces I've put numbers on (from 18 on). There's some overlap in questions, since this is sort of a patchwork. Still a work in progress:
Thanks to many fans, in particular Lizzi, who had many questions I could add to the quiz. Also JoKnee, Kari
Text-file. Download and type answers into it, just to make things easier if you do get the the chance to do that interview.
